Intially, Boyega publicly acknowledged the death of Floyd on May 28 - three days after he died - in a series of scathing tweets targeted towards racists.

Protests against police brutality and racism continue around the country and the entire world this week following the death of George Floyd.

The message concluded: "John Boyega, you are our hero".
