COVID-19 cases increase to 994 in Marshall County

Johnson County has a new positive case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases so far to 16.

Overall in Spokane County, about 23,800 tests had been conducted and about 5%, or 1,200 tests, had come back positive, according to the health department.

In all, the county has reported 13,334 positive cases of the coronavirus this year.

A total of 1,717 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in county hospitals Sunday, compared with daily hospitalizations that had ranged from 1,350 to 1,450 in recent weeks. The measure states the increase should not be greater than 10%.

Neighboring counties have also seen a rise in new cases and hospitalizations.

Meanwhile, the ICMR has initiated a programme of clinical trials for rapid antigen detection for COVID-19 patients. Of the 167 deaths reported on the day, 86 took place over the last 48 hours and 81 had occurred before June 25.

1 new death has been reported since Saturday.

The patient was a woman in her 80s from Cass County.

According to a release from the county's COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC), contact tracing and investigation have been completed, and no clear source of COVID-19 exposure for the new case could be identified. 4,831 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the County. 250 people have been released from isolation.

Nationwide, more than 44,000 new cases were reported Saturday, the second day in a row they reached more than 40,000. The state has flagged a total of 15 counties: Contra Costa, Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, Tulare and Ventura.
