"The Australian drug texts were adverse to the claimant's pleaded case and/or were supportive of the defendants' pleaded case". The divorce settled in 2017 with a lump sum from Mr. Depp.

In accordance to the Press Association, at Thursday's preliminary hearing ahead of a 3-week trial starting in the Large Court in London on July seven, 2020, NGN's attorney, Adam Wolanski, informed the court that his consumer had obtained a series of text messages sent in between Depp and his assistant Nathan Holmes from Heard's American attorneys, which contained info suggesting the defendants' appropriate to a honest trial may possibly be compromised.

Holmes had replied to Depp saying, "If they don't have it, I can't get it. I am not in any way embarrassed to say this". Depp has been open about his past problems with drug addiction, Sherborne said, and the messages do not prove that he succeeded in obtaining narcotics while in Australia.

Even though Amber Heard did not take Johnny Depp's name, she gave a statement to The Sun about domestic and sexual violence that she went through during her marriage after which Johnny Depp filed a defamation case against Amber for allegedly spoiling his reputation.

But Mr Depp's barrister, David Sherborne, said the messages were not relevant as they did not relate to the allegations of domestic violence, and said Mr Depp had been frank about his drug-taking history.

Reportedly, Depp has sued the newspaper's publisher News Group Newspapers and Dan Wootton.

He added: "It is time for the defendants to defend the allegations they published to millions of readers of their newspaper, and which they have persisted in very publicly throughout two years of litigation".

In 2014, Ms Heard and Mr Depp recorded a now infamous video apologising for taking their Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, into Australia illegally.

He said that Iran would continue to pursue Mr Trump and other officials even after their political term expires. Washington accused Soleimani of masterminding attacks by Iranian-aligned militias on US forces in the region.

Delivering judgment on Monday morning, Nicol said he agreed with the defendants' claim that Depp had "failed to comply fully with [his] obligation" to disclose documents.

Television host and #MeToo activist Amanda de Cadenet has announced that she will no longer be testifying in support of Aquaman-star and close friend Amber Heard in Johnny Depp's upcoming defamation case against the UK-based tabloid The Sun, having changed her mind after having heard the infamous recordings of Heard taunting and mocking Depp.

Depp and Heard have each made abuse claims against each other.

The court has heard that Mr Depp intends to travel from his home in France to London to give evidence, while Ms Heard is believed to have already travelled to the United Kingdom from California.

The libel claim against NGN and Mr Wootton arises out of publication of an article in The Sun in April 2018, under the headline: "Gone Potty - How can JK Rowling be "genuinely happy" casting wife-beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?"

Each accuses the other of being abusive, and Depp is also suing Heard for libel in the United States.

The couple married in LA in 2015 after meeting on the set of comedy The Rum Diary.

Allegedly, Heard was abused by Depp after she spotted him gulping "happy pills" down along with red wine and tried to intervene.
