Facebook confirms that the company is testing dark mode for smartphone apps after successfully launching the feature for its desktop interface. That background work seems to have accelerated, as now some users have reported experiencing dark mode in their app.

The addition of Dark Mode to the social network's iOS application arrives following the rollout of the attribute to WhatsApp and Messenger in March, adopted by Facebook's desktop redesign in May well.

The app includes the option to set the theme to match the default iOS/iPadOS appearance. There are reports that Facebook is also in plans to develop a dark mode for iOS.

It's only been a year now since Apple first announced an official system-wide Dark Mode in iOS 13, and it looks like one of the last major stragglers will finally be getting with the program.

The street is private property and clearly labeled as such with signs saying, "No Trespassing" and "Private Street", CNN reported. The video was removed from Facebook and Krewson apologised on Friday, stating she did not "intend to cause distress".

Fans of dark mode rejoice! Now Facebook dark mode shall be made available for users on their mobile phones.

You can check out what that looks like in the screenshots provided down below. We might have to wait for a while before Facebook released the final version to users worldwide.

The Dark Mode for Facebook mobile app has been a rumor for some time. The company said that the change was for "a small percentage of users globally right now", so it's still unclear when every user will get it. A shortcut toggle for Dark Mode will be there, provided you have it. Facebook has been working on the feature for years as it reduces the glare and the dimmed light or dark mode are not harmful for the eyes. You might have it already, or it might show up next week, or you might not see it for months.

If you do see that change, in the settings, please do let us know.
