NM reports 168 new COVID-19 cases, four additional deaths

The new confirmed cases include a girl under the age of 20 and a woman in her 80s. They are now in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the cases.

The state department of health is out with new COVID-19 numbers in Pennsylvania and they are reporting the first death from coronavirus in Montour County. This week already has the second highest number of new cases, falling barely behind the week of March 30, when 31 cases were reported.

"We are at a critical moment in our COVID-19 recovery journey", said Claudia Blackburn, the health officer at the Leon County Health Department. There are now currently three active COVID-19 cases in Marshall County and six active cases in Bureau County. Monday's case count includes results from the weekend.

Lycoming County has had 182 positive cases to date, Clinton 78 cases, Sullivan five cases and Tioga 25 cases. Statewide, there are 38 new deaths reported for a total of 6,687.

People who have underlying health conditions remain at a much greater risk for serious illness from COVID-19.

The U.S. continues to lead the world in confirmed cases, now more than 2.67 million people have been diagnosed and 127,970 people have died from COVID-19, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
