Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has said his team "don't need huge investment" this summer and insisted the club can still compete in the market even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Fernandes has been influential in United's 15-game unbeaten run and scored a double in their 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday.

The Portugal global netted twice in their 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday.

The France global arrived at Spurs in a club-record deal a year ago, but has hardly lit up north London since his arrival.

Lo Celso has since made his loan move from Real Betis permanent, with Mourinho giving the thumbs up to complete the £27m deal.

"I don't know anything about that", he told Sky Sports.

'[I wouldn't swap Lo Celso] for any player.

"When I arrived I went in other directions and he did exactly what I love a player to do: "I'm going to show you", Mourinho said.

Lo Celso has been one of Spurs' standout performers this season despite only scoring two goals in all competitions.

'[There was] no spoiled kid reactions, no crying, no moaning, no agents and family throwing messages to the press and to the social media.

"It's something that I feel, I don't know, that's my way of being - it's something that destroys me a little bit on the inside because I think the last thing in football is when you have the feeling you could, you should do more".

Mourinho also addressed his reported strained relationship with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele during the session.

"I always say it's not a problem for me to lose because my opponent is better".

Asked whether he is expecting Dier to be banned, Mourinho responded: "What do you want me to expect?"

"When you are a big club and you want to be a bigger club, you have lots of big players, you don't have five or six, 10 or 11, you have lots of very good players".

'He's working with lots of different conditions to try to play and to try to resist until the end of the season so what you see from Gio now is not the end product - he's a fantastic player for us'.
