Maxwell was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Thursday for allegedly helping Epstein create and expand a network of minor girls that were groomed and sexually abused. The Duke of York had faced major public backlash following a BBC interview where he broke his silence over his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

She went on to say that he would not need to be extradited to the U.S. in order to speak to detectives, but that United States officials could facilitate the interview in the UK. "And this kind of torture test that Prince Andrew is subjecting the victims to, like he will or he won't give a statement, if he will, when?"

Epstein committed suicide in jail while awaiting trial a year ago and Queen Elizabeth II's second son quit his royal duties after he defended his relationship with the late financier.

British socialite Maxwell was arrested in New Hampshire yesterday over allegations that she helped the disgraced financier, her former boyfriend, "identify, befriend and groom" girls, including one as young as 14.

He became a person of interest in the FBI's probe of Epstein's global sexual abuse and trafficking network in part due to the testimony of Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was forced to have sex with him at Maxwell's home in London when she was 17, around March 2001.

"More excuses, more delays, it really is painful for numerous victims".

Andrew would certainly fit this target profile to a tee, but whatever the truth of the matter, the article's tantalising nuggets don't end here - for the piece also notes Epstein and Maxwell introduced Andrew to "sex aid entrepreneur" Christine Drangsholt during a trip to Mar-a-Lago, and further quotes a friend of Andrew's ex-wife Sara Ferguson as saying the royal "used to be smart when he came back from overseas... It's just not fair", lawyer Gloria Allred told ITV.

A lawyer for some of Epstein's victims, Spencer Coogan, appeared on BBC Radio 4's Today show where he called on the Duke of York to speak to USA prosecutors about his controversial relationship with the financier. It is so traumatising and hard for the victims not to know the truth.

'The clients I work with say that every day they have to live with the post-traumatic stress of what happened to them'.

At a brief hearing on Thursday, a magistrate judge ordered Maxwell to remain in custody while she is transferred to NY for a detention hearing.

The CBC's Steven D'Souza details the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell who is accused of procuring young girls for Jeffrey Epstein.

If convicted on all counts, Maxwell faces 35 years behind bars at a maximum.

She is further charged with conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

The indictment of Maxwell alleges that, between 1994 and 1997, she "facilitated Jeffrey Epstein's access to minor victims by... inducing and enticing, and aiding and abetting the inducement and enticement of, multiple minor victims".

Ms Maxwell has previously denied any involvement in or knowledge of Mr Epstein's alleged sexual misconduct.

Andrew categorically denies he had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Giuffre, while his lawyers have insisted the duke has repeatedly offered to provide a witness statement to the investigation.
