Khan amassed more than 300 film credits, having choreographed more than 2,000 songs. "I touched her feet and she was so happy meeting me after so long". She was very lenient but at the same time, wanted my etiquette to be flawless.

At the age of 13, she ended up marrying the choreographer, who was 30 years older than her.

Khan got her first break as an independent choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974 but it took Sridevi's Hawa Hawai song in 1987 film Mr India for her to receive acclaim as a dance choreographer of repute.

She met the choreographer a year ago at an award function.

USA sets global record with 53000 coronavirus cases in one day
According to Johns Hopkins, the US has set a daily record in new COVID-19 cases in five of the last nine days. Despite the coronavirus surge, President Donald Trump's outlook on the pandemic appears to remain rosy.

"I'm devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan". Will always be grateful for her work in helping me reach my full potential in dance.

Distinguished for being more mellow than her signature choreography style but peppered with zingy moves that had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan acing it as a village belle high on life, Barso re, scored by A.R. Rahman and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, is as much an enjoyable watch as it is pleasing to the ears. Check out what else happened today here: The news of Saroj Khan's demise came in just weeks after she checked into a city hospital after complaining of breathing issues. In the 1993 hit film, Khal Nayak, Khan, and Dixit took audiences by storm with "Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai". Although Khan started out in the early seventies, she really became a household name in the mid to late eighties, first directing dances for Sridevi, and then Madhuri Dixit. She had seen me dance, and asked me whether I want to join her team. She was being challenged by a new generation of choreographers; Farah Khan and Shaimak Davar became favourites with kingpin banners. Till we dance again... She taught me for hours how to do the "dip" for film dancing. And thanks to her brilliant choreography and Dixit's unbelievable performance, the Khal Nayak soundtrack sold over 10 million copies, making it one of the best-selling albums of the year. She made dance look easy nearly like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry.

"There can never be another", she wrote on Instagram.

Wajid Khan, one of the top composers of Bollywood dance numbers, died at 42 from coronavirus at the end of May.
