The Hybrid version of the auto comes with 1,798Cc engine producing Maximum output (kW [PS]/rpm) of 72 [98]/5,200 and Maximum torque (N・m [kgf・m]/rpm) of 142 [14.5]/3,600. This will be the first SUV in the Toyota range to carry the Corolla name, although fans might consider the AE95 Corolla 4WD a close relative to the modern SUV concept. It rides on the TNGA-C platform, and has the same 103.9-inch wheelbase as the CH-R while being three inches longer, two inches taller, and one inch wider. The firm has offered 48 million models of Corolla worldwide. Found up front is a pronounced black grille as well as sharp headlights and LED daytime running lights.

To make the Corolla vary extra fashionable, the Japanese carmaker has launched an SUV automotive primarily based on this sedan.

Black cladding around the lowers skirts of the vehicle and roof rails give it the look of an SUV, while at the rear the tail-lights resemble the related Corolla sedan.

Obviously, the Cross is meant to sit in between the Corolla hatchback and the RAV4. In particular, the front panel and the infotainment display look the same.

Corolla Cross will be available with either a petrol engine or a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. In addition to its exceptional comfort, the Corolla Cross provides a spacious cabin, easy entry into and exit from the auto, class-leading luggage space suitable for all scenarios, and safety equipment inherited from the Corolla series. This engine drives the front wheels through a CVT. The suite includes the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beam, Blind Spot Monitor, an around-view monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Both engines come with continuously variable transmissions (CVT).

The petrol-powered version has certified fuel economy of 6.5 L/100 km (15.38 kmpl) and Carbon dioxide emissions of 150 g/km under the NEDC test cycle. As auto buyers around the world continue to demand SUVs in all shapes and sizes for everyday use, it was a matter of time an iconic brand like the "Corolla" got a bit chunkier.
