In a joint statement from ABC and BBC obtained by Fox News, the networks assure that "Bergeron will forever be part of the "Dancing with the Stars" family".

"Dancing with the Stars" airs on Mondays on NBC. She shared two photos of herself with season 27 partner (and winner), Bobby Bones, along with Tom and Erin, to go with her message. "Here's to all the memories and all the laughs and all the tears with a few scandals, injuries and nip slips thrown in for fun".

Bergeron has hosted "Dancing With the Stars" since its premiere in 2005, with a string of cohosts including Lisa Canning, Samantha Harris, Brooke Burke-Charvet and Andrews, who joined as co-host in 2014.

The dance has ended for "Dancing With the Stars" host Tom Bergeron - a MA native and longtime broadcaster - and his co-host Erin Andrews. It's been an unimaginable 15 yr run and the most sudden present of my profession.

In his initial tweet, Bergeron seemed to subtly hint that the decision was not his by writing that he was "just informed" of the decision. "I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made".

Erin Andrews has responded to her Dancing with the Stars exit, saying that she will "always cherish my days on that set".

"I have seen the presentation from the Dancing with the Stars producers on how we are planning to produce this show, post-COVID and with the health regulations in place because they have the advantage of making it in other territories and I am blown away by the ingenuity and the care which they are producing it", she said. While contestants who were on the show through Season 27 were able to make up to $345,000 if they made it to the finale episodes, Season 28 saw a cut that has them making a max of $295,000. Sharna, along with fellow pro, Artem Chigvintsev, were not invited back for season 28 in the fall of 2019.
