A Deadline story published earlier Tuesday said the film will mark "the first narrative feature film - an action adventure - to be shot in outer space".

At this point, we don't know enough about the collaboration between Tom Cruise, SpaceX and NASA to speculate what's coming in Hollywood's first movie in outer space.

Elon Musk is apparently also attached to the project, and it has been confirmed that it will not be a new Mission Impossible film.

The project is still considered to be in the early stages, and no film studio has officially jumped on board yet. Elon Musk replied to Bridenstine's post by acknowledging how fun it would be!

Disney Shifts Release Dates For Star Wars, Avatar, Mulan And More
A year before Star Wars returns to theaters, fans can expect the long-awaited premiere of James Cameron's Avatar 2 . The Mulan delay follows Warner Bros' decision to postpone the August release of Christopher Nolan thriller Tenet .

Since 2000, rotating crews of astronauts have been living aboard the ISS, and it has also been visited by some high-paying tourists.

Russian Federation is now the only country able to send people to the ISS, however SpaceX and Boeing have been working for years to make the United States capable of the feat. That's fortunate, as up to this point, Space X has launched only unmanned missions of its Dragon 2 craft, which is created to transport astronauts to the International Space Station. Its first launch with a human crew is scheduled for later this month. The 47-minute movie tells the story of the ISS assembly in space and has played in IMAX theaters at museums around the world for most of the last two decades.

Cruise is renowned for his daredevil films and for doing his own stunts. He scaled the world's tallest building, the 2,700-foot-tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai, for the 2011 film "Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol".

There are no plans for the project to be a Mission Impossible film but let's be honest, a movie in space is a natural progression for TC. The disease later led to a worldwide shutdown of Hollywood movie and TV production and the closure of movie theaters.
