Apple Music is not the only place the album set a record, as it achieved 79.4 million album streams on Spotify, a record for female artists. "I am OBSESSED with 'folklore, '" Natalia wrote while holding the white cardigan that Taylor used in the first music video of the album.

"Folklore", Swift's eighth studio album, was announced with just 16 hours notice.

As well as lyrics about childhood exploits, teenage quarrels, escape, heartbreak and romance throughout the album, Swift pays tribute to healthcare workers in "Epiphany" and touches on death.

The American singer also shared her vision for the album on social media.

Poland faces 'consequences' if exits women's rights treaty
The European Union on Sunday was informed Poland is planning to withraw its signature from the common domestic violence treaty. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe said Monday that Poland's proposed move was "reason for serious concern".

The reign of Taylor on Spotify this is not the end - her "Folklore" now holds the primacy as the largest streaming app debut in 2020, surpassing the album late rapper Juice WRLD "Legends Never Die", which attracted 73 million streams the day of release in early July. "Visuals that popped into my mind and piqued my curiosity", Swift explained on Twitter last week. A cardigan that still bears the scent of loss twenty years later. "I found myself not only writing my own stories, but also writing about or from the perspective of people I've never met, people I've known, or those I wish I hadn't". That album was a success in August 2019, selling more albums in 48 hours than any other a year ago. (Swift sings in the first verse, "Keep your helmet, keep your life, son / Just a flesh wound, here's your rifle.") That is partly the case, as Swift referenced her grandfather's service during World War II in the Folklore liner notes.

Bryant pointed to the drop-down banner that reads "Taylor Swift, Most Sold Out Performances", prompting the pop star to hug him in gratitude.

It's a brilliant strategy, especially considering how fast news of an album release spreads online these days. The continued hype around the album then drives further streams (and sales).
