Depp's libel action against News Group Newspapers (NGN), publisher of The Sun newspaper, and its executive editor Dan Wootton, over an article which alleged he was violent to Heard and labelled him a "wife beater", has attracted global media attention. He strongly denies being violent to Heard.

Judge Andrew Nicol has retired to consider his verdict, expected in a few weeks.

I would like to personally thank everyone who showed up to court in support of Johnny Depp these past weeks for many of us who couldn't especially to the angels who gave him bouquets. A lot was revealed starting from the $750 million loss that Depp faced from The Pirates Of The Caribbean earnings to Amber Heard claiming he was a 'monster.' The previous two days saw each of the party presenting their concluding statements. "The characterisation that he is a wife beater is entirely truthful".

Mr Sherborne said Mr Depp knows the allegation is untrue, as do "all the friends" and others who have come to give evidence during the three-week trial.

"Permeating all of the evidence in this case is the character of Mr Depp himself - his well-documented evidence of violence and destruction over his adult life which have occurred when he was under the influence of drink and drugs".

Hollywood star Johnny Depp has always denied he struck his then wife Amber Heard during their relationship. Soon after the incident, Heard officially filed for divorce from Depp.

Amber Heard (C) with her girlfriend Bianca Butti (L) arrive at the Royal Courts of Justice, the Strand on July 27, 2020 in London, England.

The former couple have been back and forth in court in the past month.

The barrister added: "I'm sorry - there are many, many victims of domestic violence and different situations, but this is a huge disservice to those genuine victims, as well as the MeToo movement, for Ms Heard to count herself as one of them, as she plainly does". "He is no wife beater", Sherborne told the court.

In a series of texts from 2013, Heard wrote to her mother that, he is "nuts" "violent and insane". "He has never hit a woman in his entire life".

Huawei has (briefly) overtaken Samsung as the world's top smartphone vendor
A years-long U.S. pressure campaign against Huawei has handicapped the Shenzhen-based firm's global business. Meanwhile, Samsung's key markets were disrupted by the pandemic and its sales fell 30% on a yearly basis.

Depp said he sued The Sun because his career had been harmed by Heard's allegations.

Earlier, Sherborne had referred to evidence given by Heard that Depp had thrown his former girlfriend Kate Moss down the stairs.

Henriquez wasn't the only witness in court this week.

Sherborne said NGN was relying on evidence from Heard, "a complex individual with a complex history".

"He created a misogynistic persona of (Heard) as the stereotype of a nagging woman", Wass said. "I definitely was not having an affair with Amber while she was married to Johnny, this is totally false", the Tesla mogul told the publication of cheating claims made during Depp's explosive libel trial in the UK.

Wass said a Southern gentleman required "a supplicant wife" - and Heard, a quarter-century younger than Depp, was not prepared to fulfil that role.

The previous day the court had asked Henriquez if Amber Heard had ever hit her and she said no. Johnny Depp's defense tried to use this video as evidence that Henriquez was lying and therefore not a reliable witness.

"He grew to resent her for telling him how he could kick his addiction, telling him how he could banish 'The Monster", she added.

Heard, on the other hand, has been described as "unhinged", a theme that was continued in the closing arguments from Depp's legal team yesterday. In an emergency, call 000.
