Province reveals plan for full return to school in September

SV's plan says students will still have access to school meals, regardless of whether they're in the building or learning from home. The province said most elementary schools in the province can return to full-time in-class instruction with minimal modifications to school bell schedules and timetables.

Topeka Public Schools will start the school year with all students returning to online learning September 9, then transition to a combination of in-person and online learning.

"The safety of students and staff is paramount and government will continue to make science-based decisions, following the expert advice of Dr. Henry and her public health team", Fleming said. "I'm still concerned about what we're going to do about their emotional well being and the trauma that the students are experiencing because of this pandemic and the situation that we're now in".

Floyd County's plan also states that students will not wear a mask in class while the six foot social distancing guidelines are observed.
