'I don't think Frank has faith in either goalkeeper that he has, ' said Alan Shearer.

To contest for important silverware in the season, a versatile and strong goalkeeper is a must for any team and Chelsea will also look to strengthen the position after Frank Lampard lost confidence on the Spaniard.

Having been linked with potential replacements for Kepa, Jamie Carragher thinks they must sign someone to be their number one if they're to challenge for the title next season, telling Sky Sports, "I know they keep buying a lot of attackers but you see how many goals they have conceded".

The Blues might already have made an undisclosed bid in order to land the big German in Stamford Bridge.

"Of course I hope he stays", Caballero said in the Express on the exit rumours.

Both Wright and Shearer were adamant that Lampard should be looking for a new goalkeeper in the transfer window.

He is still expected to commit his future to Barcelona, but in light of the recent problems at the club, Chelsea are hoping to muscle in on a deal to take him to London. This season there were some other things happening, but past year was fantastic. We work well together in training.

"He has been behind me, helped me with everything in the games that I have played". He has shown us all and a great face, even in the worst moments for him. The way he worked during those weeks and in the last week was excellent, "added Caballero".

Caballero was selected between the sticks for Chelsea's final Premier League game of 2019-20, as they defeated Wolves and booked Champions League qualification through a top-four finish.

The Blues have already signed Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner this summer as Lampard looks to remould his squad ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season.
