According to one of the emails unsealed Thursday, Epstein appears to have drafted a press statement for Maxwell: "Since JE was charged in 2007 for solicitation of a prostitute I have been the target of outright lies, innuendo, slander, defamation and salacious gossip and harassment; headlines, made up quotes I have never given, statements I have never made, trips with people to places I have never been, holidays with people I have never met", Epstein wrote on Jan 21, 2015.

"Absent a stay from this court, it will forever let the cat out of the bag", Ms Maxwell's lawyers wrote.

The more than 80 documents are part of a 2015 civil defamation suit against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein of keeping her as a "sex slave" with help from Maxwell.

The emails were among dozens of documents unsealed late yesterday relating to a defamation lawsuit filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre against Maxwell in 2015.

Epstein was found hanged in his cell in August a year ago while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

Federal prosecutors say Maxwell conspired with Epstein to lure girls as young as 14 to be sexually abused by the financier and that she sometimes participated in the assaults.

Lawyers for Maxwell said making her deposition public could make it "difficult if not impossible" to find an impartial jury for her criminal trial. She faces six counts, including perjury, and faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted. The government also charges Maxwell lied during her April 2016 testimony when she denied knowing Epstein engaged in sex with underage girls or that she was present during such encounters. She is now being held in a Brooklyn, New York, jail, where she awaits her criminal trial, scheduled to begin sometime in July 2021.

Alan Parker, director of Midnight Express, dies
He is survived by his wife Lisa Moran-Parker, his children Lucy, Alexander, Jake, Nathan and Henry, and seven grandchildren. He was knighted by the Queen in 2002, and in 2013 received the British film academy's highest honour, the BAFTA Fellowship.

In an email on January 24, 2015, Maxwell appears to try to distance herself from any intimate relationship she had with Epstein, a former hedge fund manager.

It is not clear who Shelley is.

In seeking to keep Maxwell's deposition sealed, her lawyers said in court papers on Thursday she had been promised confidentiality by Giuffre's lawyers and the presiding judge at the time, through an agreed-upon protective order, before answering many personal, sensitive and "allegedly incriminatory" questions about her dealings with Epstein. He was arrested on new sex-trafficking charges in July 2019 in a case filed by federal prosecutors in NY. She's the one who abused me on a regular basis.

"She's the one who I believe, in my heart of hearts, deserves to come forward and have justice happen to her more than anybody".

Two of Epstein's victims, known as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, claim Epstein depended on high-profile friends like Prince Andrew to secure a favourable sentence from the U.S. attorney in South Florida in 2008.

When asked by King whether she thought there should be men panicking over what Maxwell might tell authorities, Giuffre said she would "really hope they are". The Royal vehemently denies this.
