7 new cases of COVID-19; 1 new death

Salina Regional is a regional hospital, the COVID-19 patient total is not specific to the number of Saline County residents who may be hospitalized.

According to the health department, there have now been 142 confirmed cases in the three-county region.

A man and a woman in their 70s. A total of 4,984 people in the county have tested positive for the disease and 114 have died from it.

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County (DOH-Bay) received confirmation of 147 additional cases of COVID-19 with 352 negative test results and a 29.5 percent positive for July 31.

Lewis County reported five new cases Saturday; two of those people are under age 20, one is in their 30s, another in their 40s and one is in their 80s.

Maria Van Kerkhove, WHO's technical lead on the pandemic, said that night clubs in a number of places had become "amplifiers of transmission" of the virus.

Of these cases, 18 are from Bureau County and are people recovering at home including one female child, one male teenager, one male in his 20s, two females in their 30s, one male in his 30s, two females in their 40s, three males in their 40s, two females in their 50s, one male in his 50s, one female in her 60s, one male in his 60s and two females in their 90s. Putnam County has had eight confirmed cases. None of the new deaths were from Marshall, Starke, or Pulaski counties.

As of Thursday, Iowa had a 10 percent increase in cases of people recovering from COVID-19 and a 4.3 percent increase of recoveries from COVID-19 in Marshall County.

In the US, more than 4.6 million people have tested positive for the disease and more than 154,319 people had died due to complications from it as of Saturday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Nearly 60 percent of state's positive cases have been Hoosiers under the age of 50, but more than half of the deaths have been people age 80 and older.

Today, hospitalizations throughout the state were reported at 9,296 and 1,648 cases were reported hospitalized in North Texas.
