While UM President Julio Frenk has repeatedly announced his anticipation that Hurricanes football will take place without fans in 2020, the program's home stadium may be a safer place to welcome spectators than nearly any other stadium in the country. Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger reported that if the conference used its rotational formula to expand the season, LSU would play Kentucky and Tennessee, but has since said that is not the approach the league will take. "Everyone would like to play a full schedule, including our rivalry game with Louisville, but this timing and format gives us our best opportunity to adjust to these unique circumstances".

The start for the season as also been pushed back to September 26th, with some game dates being rearranged to fit the new timeline, as well.

A revised schedule for the 2020 SEC football season will be announced at a later date following approval by the Conference's athletics directors.

"The Department of Athletics is aware of the Southeastern Conference's decision to play a conference-only schedule, which impacts the football program's November 21 game at Missouri".

All the schools will have an open date in the middle of the season, and the SEC Championship Game won't be played until December 19. Sterk said the football program could use the longer ramp-up to take scheduled days off and otherwise make sure student-athletes are ready to play after no spring ball and a limited summer session.

The SEC will play a 10-game conference-only schedule, and if there is any fairness in the new schedule, which was not announced Thursday, the Razorbacks will get to play Vanderbilt, thus ensuring one of the cellar-dwellers of an SEC victory.

Naya Rivera honored by Netflix in 'Sugar Rush' episode
The episode was filmed in February before television productions were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. The episode with Rivera will air on Friday, July 31 on Netflix along with the rest of third season.

This is the only non-conference game to be canceled on the Cajuns so far. "The toughest conference in college football is going to battle it out in historic fashion".

"We just need everyone to do their part to bring an end to this pandemic, " James told WQAM. "There were veterinary medicine students, there were research students, so there's other students".

The conference generally plays an 8-game schedule each year, and will have to add two games. The postponement allows schools to judge the effects, from on-campus students to local coronavirus cases. We've said over and over again, we're in it together.

"There are ways to carry out events - particularly at outdoor venues - while observing science-based public health recommendations and guidance, " Frenk told the Herald.

Joos said every future opponent has signed and returned the document, including Central Arkansas, except for this season's other non-conference opponents BYU, Eastern Michigan and Louisiana.
