Trump Makes A Big Exception In His War On Mail-In Voting

Nevada mailed ballots to all voters ahead of its primary election in June and encouraged residents not to risk in-person voting.

Donald Trump has warned of the danger of election fraud by mail-in ballots and claimed the election could be delayed by its unprecedented scale.

Further, with the possible threat of fraud, Meadows said if a majority of states move forward with a vote-by-mail system then it's likely we wouldn't have election results until upwards of January.

"We're going to hold an election on November 3 and the president is going to win", he asserted.

"Republican Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote on Twitter: "@realDonaldTrump "s supporters are out in force today protesting Nevada Dems" attempts to ram through mass mail-in voting & ballot harvesting.

Meadows suggested, however, there are serious concerns surrounding mail-in voting.

Despite Trump's insistence to the contrary, cases of election fraud in the USA are exceedingly rare, though experts acknowledge that there are some slightly higher fraud risks associated with mail-in balloting when proper security measures are not put in place. Polls show Biden leading Trump nationally by as much as 15 points in some states.

Big 12 Conference announces plan for 2020 football season
MSU's football team is now nearing the end of a 14-day quarantine resulting from a small outbreak amongst the team. Thus far the PAC-12 and SEC have joined the Big Ten and ACC in eliminating non-conference games.

The president's shift on mail-in voting also comes as new data indicates the president's assault on the practice may backfire on him come November. In a state where presidential elections are regularly decided by thin margins, 15 percent of Trump voters in Florida said that getting a ballot in the mail would make them less likely to vote in the fall.

Does Trump's sudden enthusiastic endorsement have something to do with the fact that enrollment for Florida's mail-in voting program among Democratic voters is eclipsing that of Republican voters, who've been told by their party leader for months that voting by mail lead will lead to the "most corrupt election" in American history, by over 300,000?

Almost 2,000 ballots were sent to voters with the wrong political party, so new ballots were issued.

Trump went on to say the U.S. Postal Service won't be able to handle the unprecedented surge of mail-in ballots-a claim the USPS contradicted in a statement Monday night.

McEnany insisted Tuesday that Trump's stance had not changed, and that he was still opposed to so-called universal mail-in voting, where states proactively mail ballots to every registered voter without requiring a request.

Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington already conduct their elections entirely by mail, while California and Vermont have made a decision to do so this year due to the pandemic.

Some states, like Maryland, are mailing absentee ballot applications to voters rather than the ballots themselves.
