To note, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has sold more than 1.7 million units as of March 2019, a year and some change after its initial launch. Here's why that's important.

"In addition, sales of titles from other software publishers continued to grow steadily, bringing the total number of million-seller titles during this period to nine, including titles from other software publishers", said Nintendo in an official statement. Considering the Switch sold 5.68 million altogether in the last three months, not selling 500k+ in over a month's time seems practically impossible, even when considering shortages.

The Japanese company has already asked assemblers to increase production of its marquee gaming console yet again in order to keep up with demand, Bloomberg News reported earlier.

That performance was driven by island life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which got off to a hot start in March with almost 12 million copies sold in its first 11 days.

CNN later reported that three USA officials said "there was no indication" that the explosion was an attack. Only US President Donald Trump seemed to suggest it could have been a possible attack.

Outside of the RPG sphere, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has now sold more than 22 million units, making it the second best selling Nintendo Switch game after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Operating profit for April-June was 144.7 billion yen ($1.37 billion).

Quarterly sales at Kyoto-based Nintendo jumped, doubling to 358 billion yen ($3.4 billion) on-year. "That being said, there are many elements of uncertainty, so if there is a need to revise our earnings forecasts at a later date, we will promptly disclose those revisions". Digital sales were up 229.9 per cent and accounted for 55.6 percent of sales on Nintendo hardware. The game company initially forecasted 19 million units to be sold for the current fiscal year, but the latest quarter's financial results has exceeded expectations. Nintendo said sales of the title are recovering due to increases in production and shipping.
