Google on Tuesday announced the launch of the "people cards" feature in India. We first learned about this back in February, when Google published some support pages (that it quickly took down), but the feature is now official for India. People cards now only supports English.

In order to create your people card, you will be required to sign into your Google Account and do a Google search for 'add me to Search.' This will lead you to a link that will require you to add information that you may choose to add or not. This curated information may help people card owners influence their customer journey. So if you both have People Cards, how can they be differentiated?

For the millions of influencers, entrepreneurs, prospective employees, self-employed individuals, freelancers, or anyone else out there who wants to be discovered, we hope this new Search feature will help the world find them.

Finally, if you ever decide to stop your people card from appearing in search results, it is possible to delete the same at any time. Google has launched People Cards, which are virtual visiting cards of sorts, that can help you be found online more easily.

They said the layoffs would widely affect newly hired police officers, who were often hired from minority communities. The chief's salary was also cut and the council removed officers from a unit created to remove homeless camps.

To ensure that reliable information is provided, Google has put together a variety of protections and controls to maintain the quality of information on people cards. You can also report low-quality information or a card that you believe was created by an impersonator, you can tap the feedback link to let us know. Also, there is the picture on the card.

The solution aims to make a person's online presence more prominent, accessible and consolidated, while also helping the people who are searching for the said person find authentic information about them. Those searching for it can then click on the right card by sifting through this information.

This feature is rolling out to users in India on mobile and in English. For people sharing the same names, multiple modules will show up when searched for and all you need to do is zero in on one information (location or profession or both) and find the person you are looking for.

The company is said to have been testing this feature for the past couple of years.
