Simon Cowell won't be able to walk for weeks after breaking back

Media mogul Simon Cowell has thanked Kelly Clarkson for standing in for him on America's Got Talent while he recovers from back surgery.

'I've not been able to stop thinking about them all, it's absolutely horrific.

Simon was rushed to hospital on Saturday when he fell from his new electric bicycle at his house in Malibu, California.

She continued: 'I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that, come the live shows, we can hopefully have Simon on the link, because we love him'. The 60-year-old had surgery after the accident and is now recovering from home.

Also on the list were Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, actors Will Smith and Adam Sandler, and veteran movie star Jackie Chan. The actor is now in the United Kingdom filming his next project, titled Bell Bottom, starring Vaani Kapoor as the female lead.

The lengthy recovery period means Simon has been forced to sit out the rest of the current season of AGT, with Kelly Clarkson taking over his seat alongside Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara on Tuesday and Wednesday as the show returns.

A source told The Sun: "It's going to take him weeks, maybe months". "Simon has a long and hard road ahead". However he has been advised to rest so he can make a full recovery, adding that ignoring doctor's orders could result in very bad news long term.

Simon broke his back when his powerful new $21,500 Swind EB-01 electric bike "flew up in the air and did an accidental wheelie" after he exhausted to change gears. "Some good advice.If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time".

Cowell's representative announced he had "broken his back in a number of places" and was "doing fine" after the six-hour procedure.
