Biden and Harris are expected to deliver their first remarks under a joint presidential ticket on Wednesday.

While several deadlines laid out by Biden on his vice presidential announcement have come and gone, Biden has consistently committed to having a decision before the convention, which is slated to be an nearly entirely virtual event held from August 17 to August 20.

Harris was the second black woman ever elected to the Senate and has served as senator since January 2017. Back in the mid-90s when Harris was a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, she was in a relationship with Brown, who was married (although estranged from his wife for over a decade). "She is more than prepared for the job". Harris' work as California attorney general and recalled how she worked with his late son Beau, who served as attorney general of DE before dying in 2015 from brain cancer at the age of 46. Harris is biracial and is the daughter of a Black father and Indian-American mother. She is married but does not have children.

"Filled with joy that Sen". Barack Obamas presidential campaign in 2008. After failing to gain traction in Iowa, she suspended her campaign in December after weak fundraising totals. It's clear the Biden-Harris ticket marks our nation's most pro-equality ticket in history.

But her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination ended miserably, with Harris exiting from the race in December previous year. Some Biden advisers have told Reuters the attacks made them question whether she would be a trusted working partner because of her political ambitions.

In a recent photo, Biden seemed to be holding a note with Harris' name at the top, with phrases: "Do not hold grudges" and "great respect for her". As a presidential candidate, Harris spoke with deep understanding of and empathy for the issues our community faces.

As a presidential candidate, she also took Biden to task in a nationally televised debate over his past stances on mandatory busing for students as a means to desegregate schools. Other prominent choices were New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, former Georgia House Speaker Stacey Abrams and Sen. Tammy Duckworth of IL, and Reps. Harris herself has said she became a prosecutor in order to bring a more progressive approach to the office. Elizabeth Warren of MA.

She added: "It was me, my three boys, Blake, my brother, his wife and their two little babies, her sister and then a friend". As Gwen later explained, she and her family all stayed on Blake's ranch right at the start of quarantine.

Biden's deliberations have drawn intense scrutiny given his age as well as speculation that he might serve only one four-year term if elected.

While that exchange failed to boost her White House hopes, the Mr Biden campaign will now look for her to train her prosecutorial fire on Mr Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. That pressure follows a campaign-reviving win in SC due in part to strong support from African American voters and has been compounded by nationwide protests over racial inequality in the wake of the death of George Floyd, who was killed in Minneapolis police custody in May.

The two will deliver remarks on Wednesday afternoon in DE, an East Coast state where Biden lives and has conducted his virtual election campaigning.

Biden committed to choosing a female running mate during the final Democratic primary debate in March and has faced pressure to choose a woman of color to join him on the ticket throughout the vetting process.

"Some people would say that men are insulted by that, and some people would say it's fine".

Biden, known for staying close to his home near Wilmington during the Covid-19 pandemic, has also been spending time at his residence in Rehoboth Beach.
