Universal mail-in ballots. They want $25 billion, billion, for the Post Office.

"Let's meet in the middle, we've said all of that", Pelosi said.

Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, tweeted that Trump is "openly touting his agenda to defund the post office to prevent people from voting amid a pandemic.[e] ven at the expense of veterans getting their medicine by mail and all of the other grave harms".

The president has been railing against mail-in ballots for months as a possible source of fraud, despite little evidence it takes place and millions of Americans using the post office to cast absentee ballots for years. "That means they can't have universal mail-in voting, they just can't have it".

In a statement, Stand Up America founder and president Sean Eldridge said Trump is "saying the quiet part out loud" by admitting that he's blocking Postal Service funding in an effort to hinder mail-in voting. "Congress must act now".

"They [the Democrats] want three and a half billion dollars for something that'll turn out to be fraudulent - that's election money basically", Trump said.

He was in Rochester talking about the number of jobs in the Finger Lakes that would be lost if the postal service continues to fail.

In a July 29 letter to Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, the Postal Service's general counsel and executive vice president Thomas Marshall warned that the "mismatch" between Pennsylvania's laws and the delivery capabilities of the mail system "creates a risk that ballots requested near the deadline under state law will not be returned by mail in time to be counted under your laws as we understand them".

"Donald Trump knows that if the people are heard in November, he and Republicans up and down the ballot will lose", Sen. "This is what we're up against-and this is why we have to fight back with all we've got". Additional records detail cuts to hours at post offices, including reductions on Saturdays and during lunch hours.

It's the entire Republican Party.

Trump later said at a news briefing that if a deal was reached that included postal funding, he would not veto it.

Republicans are working with Trump to destroy the USPS and sabotage the delivery of ballots.

Democratic governors have pushed for mail-in ballots in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

But a Postal Service spokesperson said declining mail volume means the Postal Service is removing "duplicate" boxes from areas that have multiple collection boxes. "When you always talk about Russia, Russia, Russia and China, Iran on voting - the biggest problem is going to be with the Democrats, not with China, Russia and Iran", he said.

The Declaration for American Democracy, a coalition of over 160 organizations, weighed in too.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday said the Republican-controlled Senate was leaving Washington until September, unless there was a coronavirus relief agreement that required a vote.

"And whatever the reality is that we have to deal with, if he refuses to honor the sacred right of the vote enabling, removing obstacles of participation, if he wants to undermine the Post Office. that's most unfortunate but we will have the volunteer power to make sure that our vote gets out early and that it gets out in a way that has a clear decision on Election Day".
