Epic also attacked Apple on social media, launching a campaign with the hashtag #FreeFortnite, urging players to seek refunds from Apple if they lose access to the game and creating a parody of Apple's famous "1984" television ad.

Google has also removed Fortnite from the Google Play Store in violation of that app store's similar terms.

More details about the battle royale between Fortnite creator Epic Games and Google are surfacing, following yesterday's news that Apple and Google have pulled the game from their respective game stores due to Epic implementing a bypass of those stores' payments systems.

Epic's lawsuit challenges their rules.

Things started to snowball when Epic updated Fortnite with a direct payment option early on Thursday.

In its lawsuit against Google, Epic has claimed that the company is abandoning its "don't be evil" motto, breaking promises it made decades ago by supporting the removal of Fortnite. As to whether we'll ever see Fortnite on the Google Play Store again, nobody can say for sure.

Epic recently reached an agreement with OnePlus, an OEM, to allow users of OnePlus mobile devices to seamlessly install Fortnite and other Epic games by touching an Epic Games app on their devices-without encountering any obstacles imposed by the Android OS.
