While that's bad enough, 505 only exacerbated the situation recently by quietly upgrading Deluxe Edition users to the Ultimate Edition of the game.

Publisher 505 Games found themselves in some hot water over the Summer when it was revealed that players would not be able to upgrade their standard version of Control to next-gen consoles.

Those that were granted the Ultimate Edition upgrade by mistake have since had their games reverted to their previous form. The Digital Deluxe Edition, which was available on the game's original August 27, 2019 launch date, also included access to both expansions, making it effectively the same product - just without the free download of the PlayStation 5 version. "It would be pretty shitty if base game + season pass holders are left out of this 'upgrade'".

You can not upgrade a copy of your PlayStation 4 control to the next-gen version unless you own the newly released final version, which means that players who want to do so must purchase the game again after already owning all the content.

India reports more than 90,000 cases for fourth consecutive day
Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country, accounting for more than 35 per cent of all deaths in India. India's confirmed coronavirus tally has crossed 4.6 million after a record surge of 97,570 new cases in 24 hours.

"As of today, we can't offer an upgrade to everyone, and leaving any one group out feels unfair", the statement added.

If it's true that CD Project Red is already offering a free PlayStation 5 upgrade for owners of five-year-old games like Wichter 3: Wild Hunt, this latest release only makes the whole situation worse for 505 games and remedies.

About 12 hours later on the PlayStation Store, someone "flicked the switch to prevent access that they previously allowed", said ResetEra user Chaserjoey. Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is valued at $70 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, yet this bundle likewise incorporates admittance to the last-gen rendition, successfully making the redesign cost $10.

Now just a month later, fans are confused and upset when seeing their Control Deluxe Editions accidentally upgraded to Ultimate.
