American fast bowler Ali Khan joins the Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for England T20 specialist Harry Gurney, who has opted out for shoulder surgery.

Khan, 29, will be the first United States of America player to feature in the IPL, according to ESPNCricinfo. The team co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan evokes high emotions among the followers of the game in India. Now, KKR mentor David Hussey has cleared the air about the same as they prepare for IPL 2020 in the UAE.

Ali Khan represented the winning side, the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Looking at the balance of the team, one can not overlook KKR's chances in the tournament. Some players were also included in the team but Karthik was retained. Morgan, the current England limited overs captain has a T20 global strike rate of nearly 140, with 14 fifties. Skipper Dinesh Karthik will have a vital role to play as a batsman.

Morgan is a classy-middle order player.

KKR have spent very large amount of money on their foreign recruits and will be hoping that they return dividends in the 13th season of the cash-rich tournament.

Squad: Dinesh Karthik (captain and wicket-keeper), Eoin Morgan (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Tom Banton, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi, Kuldeep Yadav, Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna, Lockie Ferguson, Rinku Singh, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Nikhil Naik, Chris Green, M. Siddharth, Sandeep Warrier, Varun Chakravarthy and Siddhesh Lad. Eoin Morgan is a big name in this lineup and it will be interesting to see how KKR will use Morgan. Remember, Sunil Narine is also an explosive batting option and has opened the batting for them on multiple occasions.

According to Hussey, there is a "bit of bromance" and "no rift" between Karthik and Russell. Expect him to play up the order, like he did in the latter stages of IPL 2019 BAZ AS COACH - Think Brendon McCullum and you will think of a cricketer who is aggressive in his mindset, but calm on the outside. "You have won titles for us at Trinbago Knight Riders and deserve your chance to do the same with us KKR". With the added benefit of Russell as hitter and finisher, things can get going in the favour of the team.
