"She mentioned that the industry is being used to be flogged by social media and the government's non-support", Jaya Bachchan said. The MP from Gorakhpur said drug addiction was present in the film industry too. Without taking names, she said that she completely disagrees with those who called the entertainment industry a "gutter". Hence, I request you to support the industry.Just because of a few people, you can not tarnish the whole industry. Kishan alleged that neighbouring countries like Pakistan and China were adding fuel to the fire by smuggling drugs to India.

She said that there are people in the industry, who are the highest taxpayers and they are being harassed.

Additionally, Bachchan said the image of the entire industry is being tarnished because of "some people".

"The entertainment industry in our country provides direct employment every day to 5 lakh people and indirect employment to 5 million people".

The Queen actor was responding to Samajwadi Party MP's comments about entertaining industry being equivalent to a "gutter". She attacked Ravi Kishan and said that the people bite the hands that feed them. "All kinds of promises are being made to the industry but never kept", she added. Several people have been apprehended.

Kishan had yesterday spoken about drug abuse in the film industry in the Lok Sabha.

The Kane County Health Department reported a total of 12,188 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 325 deaths Monday. Hidalgo County reported 22 additional COVID-19 related deaths on Monday, raising the total there to 1,431.

Ranaut's response further fueled the trolling and hate against Bachchan on social media, which started trending with hashtags like #JayaBachchan, #Jayaji and #gutter, the minute her speech in Parliament surfaced online.

Kishan had spoken on the current Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation being carried out in relation with the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

"I send my greetings to Jaya ji".

He urged the government to take "strict action" against the culprits, adding that the supply of drugs is a conspiracy by neighboring countries like Pakistan.

"Jis thaali me khate hai, usi me ched karte hai", she said in Hindi in a dig at the actor, literally meaning destroying the goose that lays the golden egg.

Kangana Ranaut tweeted from her official Twitter handle and wrote, "Jaya Ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day?"
