MLB games are being played without fans in attendance due to the coronavirus, but according to The Athletic, league Commissioner Rob Manfred said during an online event Tuesday that he hopes to see some limited attendance at the league's two Championship Series and the World Series.

We already knew coming into the season that the playoff field would expand from 10 teams to 16 teams, with eight teams coming from each league.

Best-of-three Wild Card Series will begin on September 29, to be played entirely at home ballparks of each of the top four seeds in each league.

No off days may affect teams' decisions on how many pitchers to carry for postseason series. That allows for the best of three wild card series to be seeded as follows: 1 -8, 2-7, 3-6 4-5.

Texas is last in the American League West at 17-30 entering Tuesday, with little chance of advancing to the postseason. Both series are scheduled to run from October 5-9.

The series leading up to the World Series are all scheduled with no off days in between games, MLB.com reported, though each series will have at least one off day before it begins.

The "Bones" singer was seen in Nashville earlier in the evening on Wednesday, rehearsing for her ACM Awards performance. The eligibility period for this year's show was calendar year 2019 and voting ended before the pandemic hit.

The MLB, like every other business, will always do what is most profitable even if it doesn't make sense competitively.

The World Series will be at Globe Life Field in Arlington, a retractable-roof stadium with artificial turf that opened this year adjacent to the Rangers' old ballpark.

It is the first time that the World Series will be hosted at a neutral site, and the first time since 1944 that it's been hosted at a single site. That's obviously not enough time for a full quarantine heading into the postseason, so Major League Baseball is using the final week of the regular season as a de facto quarantine scenario, even though some players and coaches on contending teams - any team still mathematically alive - will still be traveling from city to city.

The AL Division Series will be in San Diego and at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium, and the NL Division Series at Globe Life and Houston's Minute Maid Park.

Globe Life Field in Arlington will host the NLDS between winners of the No. 1 seed-No. The higher seed will host all of the games in this round. After this round is over, teams will have a couple of days to travel as they will need to go through COVID protocols before they can resume play. Families of managers and coaches will not have this option because of the capacity issues in the hotels.
