Norvell said in a statement that he's surprised by the result after testing negative twice earlier this week. Chris Thomsen, FSU's deputy head coach, will handle "in-person head coaching duties" until Norvell can return.

Florida State will be allowing a maximum of 400 fans into the Seminole Soccer Complex for the 2020 season because of Covid-19 restrictions. He said he doesn't believe the Miami game is in jeopardy. Deputy head coach Chris Thomsen will coach Florida State in the meantime.

I will remain involved remotely as much as possible to help our team continue to prepare.

Thomsen is the only other member of Norvell's staff with full-time head coaching experience at the collegiate level. University contact tracers went to work after Norvell's positive test. We have communicated with Commissioner John Swofford and Miami Athletics Director Blake James.

Biden blasts Trump's plan to push for Supreme Court nominee before election
But Mr Biden and other Democrats said voters should choose the next president, who should then choose Ms Ginsburg's successor. Democrat Hillary Clinton, whom Trump defeated in the 2016 election, on the same program called that view "indefensible".

"While we project our quarantine and isolation numbers to improve next week, we felt it was in the best interest of the health and safety of our student-athletes to make this decision now", Memphis athletic director Laird Veatch said in a statement.

Last month, three receivers - including standout Tamorrion Terry - publicly spoke out about a lack of transparency in coronavirus testing.

Norvell figures to be back for those ACC games, barring no complications, and could also be available for Florida State's games at N.C. State Nov. 14, home for Clemson Nov. 21 and at Duke Dec. 5. Matthews has since entered the transfer portal. In it, he said he was lied to about testing and health protocols on multiple occasions. He also said he had spoken with Thompson and they were "moving forward together". Many players threatened to leave the program in the Spring after it was found out that Norvell sent the same copy/paste text to each player instead of talking to them face to face about the racial matters that have been happening in our country. Its release of Norvell's positive test is the first time the school has publicly acknowledged any positives.
