Barkley injured his knee as he ran to the sideline and was tackled by Eddie Jackson during the first quarter of the Giants' 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Barkley and the Giants weren't the only ones hit hard by injuries Sunday. "I'm sure he is rehabbing right now". The team confirmed this on Monday after further investigations.

High ankle sprains are generally considered a 4- to 6-week injury, but Rhule said he had no timeline for McCaffrey's return.

The injury to Barkley continues a rough start to the year for the Giants, who find themselves 0-2 for the fourth straight season following their Week One defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And, now, Vanessa Bryant's mom is talking to the media about it. But some time over the months, things went awry, apparently.

Barkley will have to wait for the swelling in his knee to subside before having surgery, which the team said would be in the near future.

After a short conversation with trainers, Barkley got on a cart and was driven into the tunnel.

The third-year back immediately grabbed his knee and punched the ground in disgust, before being carted to the locker room on a day when several National Football League players suffered serious injuries. Unfortunately the Giants have been 9-25 in his first thirty four career games as pro.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants are bringing in free agent running back Devonta Freeman for a workout on Monday as they gear up for their Week Three clash against the San Francisco 49ers.
