Twenty-five years later, the Banks family is returning. Meyers supports the World Central Kitchen and created this sequel to raise awareness of the non-profit organization. Martin Short played flamboyant wedding coordinator Franck Eggelhoffer with BD Wong as his assistant Howard Weinstein.

Meyers shared a photo of the iconic film to Instagram, accompanied with the caption: "If he [Martin] thought a weeding was a lot, how would he react to 2020?"

As with many reunions that have been happening over the course of the last few months, the "Father of the Bride" special will be held for charitable purposes.

The special sequel (ish) will air only on Netflix YouTube and Facebook. The streaming giant announced on their Twitter page today that they will be hosting a "Father of the Bride 3ish" reunion tomorrow night.

In a teaser released Thursday, the 2020 version of frugal patriarch George (Martin) is running late for the family meeting because he's washing his hands ("One more "Happy Birthday" to go!" he shouts). Be that as it may, fans of this hit series will receive a special treat later this week when the cast reunites.

It is also not clear if Father of the bride will conduct a Zoom call reunion live or if pre-taped.

Diane Keaton played Nina Banks, George's wife. It's been 25 years since we've seen the cast on screen together in Father of the Bride Part II.

Father of the Bride 2 was not the hit that the studio was hoping for, as reactions from fans and critics was mixed at best. In 1996, Nancy Meyers confirmed that she and director Charles Shyer were planning a third movie in the Father of the Bride series, which would "have their characters confronting serious problems in their relationship - but ending up with a stronger bond than ever". However, there was still talk of a third installment.

A reunion of the Father of the Bride manufactured is at the playing a game of cards and is sooner than enthusiasts might suspect.
