Joaquin Phoenix And Rooney Mara Name Their Child After River Phoenix

The couple has reportedly named their son after Phoenix's late older brother, actor River Phoenix, who passed away in 1993 at the age of 23 of a drug overdose.

"He just got a baby, by the way, a attractive son called River, so he can not promote it now", he said, following the screening of the Phoenix-directed black and white documentary Gunda.

Kossakovsky is director of "Gunda", a film produced by Phoenix that has no dialogue and focuses on a mother pig, or sow, named Gunda who lives on a farm in Norway, caring for her babies.
