"The [Waterloo Region District School Board] is working with Region of Waterloo Public Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in students, staff and the community", the school said in a statement.

Superintendent Daniel Bowles told parents and staff in a notification on the district website that the district learned at 8:30 a.m. today a student had tested positive.

On Friday, the district announced a Generali Elementary School student had tested positive for COVID-19.

Rifle Middle School students were released early Monday due to a water outage, but the Garfield Re-2 School District expected to be back up and running on Tuesday.

He said as of this year, if a student is not in the building on the first day, they must be dropped from enrollment, as opposed to in the past where the district could wait 10 days before the student was dropped.

September 10: Norman Public Schools confirmed six new cases at Reagan Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, Norman High School and Norman North High School, according to a Norman Transcript report.

September 7: The Norman Transcript reported a student at Kennedy Elementary and a student at Eisenhower Elementary tested positive, according to emails from district administrators. Both cases are in students.

He reported the district has purchased and scheduled staff development items relating to COVID-19 and have acquired supplies and information for each school in the district.
