Shelby County reports 12 new cases of COVID-19

Henry said there were 3,608 people under active public health monitoring who had potentially been exposed to a person with COVID-19.

There have been 158 cases of COVID-19 reported over the past day and no new deaths.

The number of active cases sits at 85 and the number of outbreaks has dropped to four - all in long-term care homes.

According to county data, the city of DeKalb reports between 1,056 and 1,060 cases.

This week saw the beginning of several free COVID-19 testing events in the county, with testing available to anyone - regardless of symptoms. There are now 2,422 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Missouri as of Wednesday afternoon.

1,802 total negative tests have been performed, 28.3 percent of the county has been tested and the positivity rate is 7.9 percent.

That's 13 new cases since Monday. About 26% of cases in the county are Caucasian and about a quarter are Latino. New rules limit gatherings to five people or less, quarantine for visitors from states deemed high-risk, reduced hotel capacities, and a 10 p.m. closing time for food or drink establishments serving alcohol.

Of the total cases in Kendall County, 84% do not have any additional health complexities associated with them, according to county health data.

Officials previously investigated 16 other children for possible MIS-C, but none of them tested positive for COVID-19 or for COVID-19 antibodies.
