This year marks the 30th anniversary for the storied Fire Emblem franchise.

Similarly to the Super Mario 3D collection now on Switch, Nintendo will only be selling this game digitally for a limited amount of time, giving you until March 31st 2021 to pick it up before it goes back in the vault.

Nintendo continues its unusual trend of making nostalgia items available for a limited time.

The original 8-bit game Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, which featured the heroic exploits of Prince Marth and launched a decades-spanning franchise, will be available in the USA for the first time on December 4 for Nintendo Switch.

Choose from more than 50 playable characters and explore the origins of the strategic gameplay that defines the Fire Emblem series. It includes an NES-style box and replica game cartridge as well as 200-plus page art book and the game's download code. With this rich package packed with exclusive items, fans can finally play the original Fire Emblem game as it was always intended: with power!

Canada avoids snap election after Parliament vote
Green Party Leader Annamie Paul said her party's caucus decided it was not in the interests of Canadians to have an election. The liberals who were winning only a minority of seats in the October election of 2019 need backing from some other party.

In addition, Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition will be available through select retailers at a suggested price of $49.99.

This is the first time the Intelligent Systems title will be fully localized and tells the story of Marth, whom most worldwide audiences were introduced to through the Super Smash Bros. series.

This Fire Emblem game, that was released only in Japan on the Nintendo Family Computer (Famicom), told a story that featured the "heroic exploits of Prince Marth", and began a franchise that has spawned 20 games, spin-offs, and remakes, most recently with Fire Emblem: Three Houses for the Nintendo Switch.

This will be the first time that the original Fire Emblem will be officially localized in English and released in North America.
