Huawei's new Kirin-powered Mate 40 line receives warm welcome in China

Huawei also launched its new flagship Mate model on Thursday as it continues to develop smartphones and other consumer products.

The phone maker had been busy stockpiling its supply of microchips before a United States trade ban came into effect in September.

The Mate 40 family, which takes its power from the processor named Kirin 9000, which is produced with a 5 nm fabrication process, has been the target of criticism due to the pricing policy of the company for 33 years.

We are not sure which channels Huawei will bring this into Australia but we do expect it to arrive at some stage - fingers crossed a change of United States government will allow Huawei to go back to using Google services on their devices and be able to be sold nearly anywhere. In June, the FCC formally designated Huawei and ZTE as threats to USA national security due to their close ties to the Chinese government.

The vendor today announced 671.3 billion yuan (US$100.6 billion) in revenue for the first three quarters – a healthy 9.9% improvement over last year, but compares with a 24.4% gain in revenue reported in the first nine months of last year.

Pricing for the 128GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 12 are the same across the board now, too, at $849 and $949, respectively. With that in mind, Apple will ship the iPhone 12 in France with EarBuds and a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box.

For the July-September quarter, revenue grew just 3.7% on the year to 217.3 billion yuan as the latest USA export control rule took full effect in mid-September, cutting off the company from its most important global chip and component suppliers. In May, Washington extended an order placing Huawei on the Industry and Security Entity List, effectively banning the firm from us communications networks.

Huawei phones are not widely available in the US, but they're sold in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

The conflict has fueled fears the global market might be dividing into competing US and Chinese technology spheres with incompatible standards. The domestic smartphone market had helped prop up Huawei's sales since the first United States sanctions were imposed in 2019.

Now that Huawei has launched its Mate 40 series of smartphones, we'll be getting more acquainted with the Kirin 9000 chipset in the coming days. By contrast, Huawei's revenue growth was 24% in the first nine months of a year ago. Many smartphone manufacturing companies have adapted to use the different shade in their smartphone to make it look unique. But sales in China, where Huawei phones already used local alternatives, have grown sharply.

JD said that it will continue to accept pre-orders until the official start of smartphone sales in China; which will be on October 30. The absence of Google applications makes it hard to capitalize on Android, in spite of the fact that Huawei keeps on building its own environment, this time including its own Petal Search and Maps. It began reporting financial results a decade ago in an attempt to appear more transparent and mollify foreign security fears.
