The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are surprisingly similar inside, as iFixit points out that the cheaper model has a plastic spacer in the spot where the Pro puts its telephoto lens and LiDAR sensor. As the phones started shipping and arriving in the hands of customers and techies alike, a lot of teardowns of the smartphone were imminent.

A video published on Thursday (22) revealed more information about the interior of Apple's new line of cell phones, the iPhone 12.

The video images show an extensive comparison between the internal components of the new iPhones 12, revealing the use of the same logic board format, in "L" shape.

Open up the standard iPhone 12 and and you'd be hard pressed to find a difference between it and the iPhone 12 Pro.

The biggest difference between the two iPhone models is the camera module.

IPhone 12 Will Include EarPods in France
Pricing for the 128GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 12 are the same across the board now, too, at $849 and $949, respectively. With that in mind, Apple will ship the iPhone 12 in France with EarBuds and a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box.

During Ifixit's dismantling process, they found both devices are equipped with the same A2479 battery that has a rating of 3.83V and 10.78Wh. The rest of the components are also the same so in theory, they should be interchangeable but you never know with Apple.

The iPhone 12's battery is 9.5% smaller than the iPhone 11, while the iPhone 12 Pro's battery is 7.6% smaller than its predecessors.

Apple's iPhone 12 was released today, October 23, in stores and online. The iPhone 12 series is powered by Apple's A14 Bionic chip and houses Apple's Super Retina XDR OLED display.

The report speculates it could relate to the iPhone 12's increased water resistance, which may have been achieved in part by stronger adhesive and the iPhone 12's different design to previous models.
