Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' becomes first million-selling album of 2020 in US

Folklore was the first album to sell a million copies in 2020, Billboard.com reported.

The star's low-key eighth album was recorded during lockdown and released as a surprise for fans in August.

In addition to that, the album has become the first effort to sell a million copies in 2020 after selling 57,000 units in traditional album sales.

American singer Taylor Swift has been trending #1 on Billboard 200 for eight weeks straight, leading to yet another feat the powerhouse achieved this year.

Following weeks of roaming around the top ten, Taylor Swift's "Folklore" is now back at the top spot of Billboard 200. The 18,888 copies of the limited edition vinyl LP version were sold out nearly as soon as they were released.

A week ago, Swift began selling signed folk CDs for $ 25 per pop in their online store again.
