Winneshiek County nears 500 COVID-19 cases

The number of deaths remains steady at 39 with one case pending final cause classification from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Just to the south, Penobscot County has 298 confirmed cases overall with 257 recoveries. For Iron County, the department had 375 confirmed cases and 34 probables, with 164 recovered, 19 deaths and 226 cases still active.

State health officials say daily increases are now comparable with what was recorded in April. The state's seven-day positivity rate has been increasing since late June, when it was around 4%. Since the end of September, the rate has been increasing much faster - going from 6.75% to its current 11.27%.

Information is also available for COVID-19 cases and deaths among DuPage County residents by race, ethnicity, severity, long-term care facility outcomes, underlying medical conditions and doubling time. All of the deaths happened in October.

The last time Nevada reported more than 1,000 cases in a single day was August 14 with 1,099.

There were 214 new cases reported in Mecklenburg, up from 188 new cases yesterday. The other highest reporting counties in that time include Berks (209), DE (179), Allegheny (177), Montgomery (172), Luzerne (143), Lancaster (134) and Westmoreland (125).

Still, results are expected in the early morning hours the day after Election Day. Erie County voters can check the status of their absentee ballot here.

Staff and students who were determined to be close contacts of Monday's confirmed positive coronavirus cases have been notified individually.

Hospitalizations are at 1,193 statewide, according to today's NCDHHS report.

She said MI is continuing to see coronavirus infection clusters associated with facilities, programs and schools that, along with a large number of community-acquired cases, have helped fuel the increase in COVID-19 infections.

There have been a total of 195,695 cases of coronavirus in Pennsylvania since the pandemic began in March. Khaldun said more than 96% of the new test results originated from specimens collected from individuals over the past five days.
