The beauty mogul turned 40 on October 21 and celebrated with a private island getaway, surprising her family and closes friends with an invitation to come along.

She then added: "After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time".

Kardashian and her "closest inner circle" spent last week dancing, kayaking and swimming with whales on a private isle where they could "pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time", she tweeted.

Other people who attended the great bash include Scott Disick, Tristan Thompson, Chris Appleton, Corey Gamble, La La Anthony, Tracy Romulus along with the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

While Kardashian did acknowledge her privilege, her followers found it anything but humble. "People are going to food banks not private islands", posted British musician Peter Frampton.

"Very selfish when people are dying and [losing] their jobs...also doubt it very much that all 20+ people that attended isolated prior", another person wrote.

Kardashian's husband Kanye West is not visible in any of the photographs.

The cease-fire has held since March, although Russian Federation has repeatedly complained about the presence of rebel groups. The camp, operated by Faylaq al-Sham, an National Football League faction, was hosting training sessions for new recruits.

"Cool, people have had to say goodbye to loved ones over the phone while they died alone in a hospital", writer Jenna Quigley said.

Kim hasn't commented further.

While many were left entirely awe-struck by the model's mega-celebration with everything designed till perfection, a number of fans were irked about her breaking COVID-19 restrictions.

She shared photos from the gala celebrations; however, this did not sit quite well with Twitterati who felt that her posts were "insensitive" since the world is now grappling to deal with a global health crisis.

Even Kardashian West's mom, Kris Jenner, shared a series of photos and videos from the getaway, including shots of the beach, during the day and at sunset, as well as a recording of the celebrations.

"40 and feeling so humbled and blessed", Kim wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
