Minnesota Reporting 15 Deaths Monday Due to COVID-19

A Wednesday coronavirus update from Jackson County Public Health was full of distressing news - another death attributed to the virus, another day of more than 30 new cases, and a possible outbreak linked to Costco in Central Point. Public health officials reported that the seventh coronavirus death in Jackson County was a 78-year-old man.

With the number of cases in B.C. on the rise, the province has further extended the state of emergency to November 10. In total, 21 long-term care or assisted-living facilities and two acute-care facilities have active outbreaks. Currently, 84 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19, 27 of whom are in intensive care.

There have been no new community outbreaks. There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 259 deaths in British Columbia.

Most of B.C.'s cases of COVID-19 have been located in the Lower Mainland, with 7,674 confirmed cases in the Fraser Health region and 4,476 in Vancouver Coastal Health.
