Raptors guard Terence Davis arrested, charged with assault after allegedly hitting woman

Toronto Raptors' shooting guard Terence Davis has been arrested in NY and charged with assault for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend, whom he is said to have punched in the face repeatedly.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m.in an apartment building on the East Side of Manhattan, police said.

NYPD Detective Denise Moroney tells CP24 that the victim is alleging that she went to visit her boyfriend at the hotel when the two got into a verbal dispute.

TSN's Rick Westhead was able to confirm via the NYPD that Davis is facing multiple charges. The unnamed woman was reportedly filming the attack, and Davis is alleged to have gotten so angry that he grabbed the phone and shattered the screen.

Police subsequently took the National Basketball Association rookie into custody before charging him with misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief, each of which can carry a prison sentence of up to one year.

Davis was named to the NBA's all rookie second team in September after averaging 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 72 games this season.

The undrafted player out of Ole Miss racked up just under 17 minutes per game for Toronto in 2019-20.
