Netflix Renews 'Narcos: Mexico' for Season 3; Diego Luna Exits

Actor Wagner Moura, who starred as Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons of Narcos, has been tapped to return for season 3.

The second season of the series ended with Luna's drug cartel leader Félix Gallardo being sentenced to prison for drug trafficking.

The second season of the programme ended with Luna's character sentenced to prison for his drug trafficking crimes and, following much speculation, Deadline confirmed he'll be absent from the show - as the actor prepares to reprise his Cassian Andor character in Disney+ "Star Wars" spin-off series "Rogue One", which is now in pre-production.

After five seasons, Eric Newman, who worked as a showrunner for the production, will hand over to Carlos Bernard, one of the creators of the series.

"I'm thankful for the years at the helm of both Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, also tremendously proud of what the glorious group has attained these displays", Newman informed THR at a statement. "Carlo Bernard is actually the very first man I spoke to about this undertaking, over 10 decades before, and I am really happy to depart the steering of year of Narcos: Mexico within his exceptionally capable hands".

"The brand new episodes will analyze the war that breaks out after Felix's empire splinters". As new independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican royal needles is emerging. However on this conflict, reality is the primary casualty - and each arrest, homicide and take-down exclusively pushes actual victory additional away.

COVID cases continue to go up in Chippewa County
Information provided by Gamble indicates that single positive COVID-19 cases have been identified at several county schools. The county reports a total of 426 deaths in the county because of the coronavirus, while the state's total rose one to 411.

Forged members Scoot McNairy, José Maria Yazpik, Alberto Ammann, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda and Gorka Lasaosa will all return for the third season.

No word yet on a release date for the new season of "Narcos: Mexico".

Meanwhile, additional season 3 directors include Andi Baiz, Alejandra Márquez Abella, Luis Ortega and Amat Escalante.

Season 2, which premiered in February, is at the moment streaming on Netflix. Season 3 includes the return of Wagner Moura, but behind the camera.

Narcos: Mexiko is produced by Gaumont for Netflix.
