The Oklahoma City Thunder will receive center Al Horford and a 2025 first-round draft pick from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for guards Danny Green and Terrance Ferguson, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday, two hours before the National Basketball Association draft.

On the other end of things, the Thunder are reportedly sending Terrance Ferguson to the Sixers with Green. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet announced.

Per Wojnarowski, Philadelphia will surrendered a lightly protected 2025 first-round, as well as the No. 34 pick in tonight's NBA Draft. The Sixers also sent the 34th pick in Wednesday's draft to the Thunder and the rights to European point guard Vasilije Micic. The Boston Celtics have been mentioned as one possible trade destination.

He is approaching the final season of his four-year $100 million (USD) contract with the Thunder.

The 27-year-old's stats were down in last year's Covid-affected season where he averaged 10.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, but he improved in the playoff bubble where he averaged a double-double before the Thunder were eliminated by the Houston Rockets. He never fit in playing alongside franchise center Joel Embiid and was the biggest disappointment in a season that cost coach Brett Brown his job.

But in a year where so much has been turned upside down, Sixers fans had some insane news to discuss in the meantime - Al Horford is officially on the move. After winning the 2020 championship with the Lakers he was traded to OKC earlier this week in a deal that saw Dennis Schroder head to Los Angeles.

The move will see Horford's huge $US109 million ($A149 million) deal off Phily's books and will give the Sixers some much needed shooting.
