Fans just can not get enough of the popular game show Jeopardy and their host Alex Trebek! Trebek died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday, Nov. 8.

While we may not know who'll step in for Trebek for some time, we do know that most of the prospective successors paid tribute to the indefatigable TV star on Sunday. An episode that aired on November 5, just before his passing, featured that game's champion, Burt Thakur, sharing the emotional story of learning English by watching Jeopardy! and Trebek every night as a kid. In an interview in January, Trebek said that he has been rehearsing a message that he will deliver on his final episode.

As a game show fanatic, I was really saddened to learn of the passing of Alex. "So it's a pretty special moment. Thank you very much". My grandfather who raised me, I'm gonna get tears right now. We hope you did your best Alex Trebek impression if you asked the questions out loud.

And for a while, at least, Trebek will continue to be the face of "Jeopardy!".

Bobby Brown's Son Bobby Jr. Dead at 28
Bobbi Kristina was placed in a coma after her near-drowning in January 2015, but she never regained consciousness. A source close to the family told U.S. media outlet TMZ that he was found dead on Wednesday.

Fellow "G.O.A.T." player James Holzhauer praised Trebek as a both an "impartial arbiter of truth and facts in a world that needs exactly that" - and "an underrated rapper".

Various celebrities and news figures also shared their reactions. He wanted to go to lunch with Trebek to be in his presence.

According to The Wrap, Alex taped his final shows on October 29, and his last new episode will air on Christmas Day.

Episodes hosted by the Daytime Emmy victor will air through December 25 - though it's unclear how many there are - and, in announcing Trebek's passing, the show's representatives said they were not announcing a new host yet.
