How to enable WhatsApp disappearing messages feature on Android, iOS and KaiOS

The new feature that was spotted will allow users to mute videos before sending it further. The report did not mention anything about the feature coming to the WhatsApp iOS app.

After rolling out features like Disappearing Messages and Storage Management tools, WhatsApp is now testing new features like more wallpaper options, muting videos, and Read Later. The details of the new feature are already there on an FAQ page created by WhatsApp, and users can now enable this option to delete messages for individual or group chats after seven days.

The new feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo, a website that tracks all the latest features available on the beta version of the instant messaging platform.

WhatsApp has chosen a time limit of seven days for messages to disappear in chats.

Disappearing messages will also wipe out photos and videos after seven days, and while messages will disappear for both parties it's still possible to take screenshots or just simply copy messages before they are automatically deleted. In case you are wondering, messages sent or received before disappearing messages is enabled won't be affected. However, media files saved on the device will remain.
