Hope for Fortnite gamers as developer launches App Store bypass software

The company has since been engaged in a long legal battle with Fortnite maker Epic Games, which tried to circumvent the company's App Store payment systems earlier this year. "Touch is how over 100 million Fortnite gamers have built, battled and danced their way to Victory Royale". After a turbulent start, Nvidia's service switched to an opt-in method for game publishers. As a reminder the games library at your streaming disposal is the library you already have when you link your various store accounts to his service (like Steam, and GOG is coming soon) and it is compatible with 750 games. With over 80 games now on Stadia, and 135 to be available before the end of the year, seeking approval for every title isn't practical. Touch controls will also work, though they will not be natively supported in certain games because the machines on which the platform runs stream the PC version of a game and not a made-for-mobile app.

So there you go, despite Apple's walled garden and its obsession for restrictions, services like GeForce NOW and games that wouldn't otherwise be allowed in the App Store unless parent companies agree with Apple's requirements still find a way to launch on the iPhone. Epic has, however, announced that the game will release in the "near future". The premium "Founders Edition" subscription grants priority access and bumps your play sessions up to six straight hours.

Apple also suggested cloud gaming providers use the mobile web instead if they thought the terms were unfavorable.

GeForce Now enters beta on iOS

While Fortnite has until now been an Android exclusive, the Epic Games hit will soon become available on the iPhone too, again through GeForce NOW, again through the browser.

By using this workaround, you'll technically be running the PC version of Fortnite. The number of Daily Active Users on iOS was 2.5 million or 10% of the 25 million who played every day across all platforms.

The chip firm said Thursday that it is rolling out a test version of GeForce NOW to Apple's iPhone devices and iPad models. Epic, in return, brought a law-suit against the gaming company. Read our affiliate link policy for more details.
