Multiple people wounded in shooting at Wisconsin mall, mayor says

Seven adults and one teenager were taken to the hospital with injuries, Wauwatosa Chief of Police Barry Weber said in a statement.

None of the victims' injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Wauwatosa Dennis McBride told ABC News, adding that the shooter was believed to be still at large. "Investigators are working on determining the identity of that suspect". He said the mall would remain closed until further notice.

Multiple people were injured in a shooting at a USA mall yesterday, according to local media, with victims rushed to hospital but no fatalities immediately reported. "Police are actively investigating an incident at Mayfair Mall", Wauwatosa police said in a tweet.

Eight people were injured in a shooting at a mall in Wisconsin on Friday according to police, who said they were still hunting for the shooter.

Shopper Jill Wooley told a local news station she was inside with her 79-year-old mother when the gunfire erupted. "We just dropped to the floor". One said her sister - a mall employee - heard about 15 shots. She said she was anxious because the store's phone wasn't being answered and was frantic as she waited while Federal Bureau of Investigation agents cleared the mall. Mall security then ordered all customers to leave immediately, according to her.

"We are disheartened and angered that our guests and tenants were subject to this violent incident today".

Police said Cole was fleeing from police; Mensah, who also is Black, said he shot Cole because Cole pointed a gun at him.
