Amazon Launches Upgraded Echo Frames For $249.99, Now Available

Crucially, the Echo Frames are now available to everyone in the USA, suggesting Amazon is confident it can make a mainstream success of a device that puts Alexa on our faces. Last year, the retailer released the glasses, dubbed Day 1 Edition, as part of an invite-only experimental program. There is also support for calendars and group messaging on the second-generation Echo Frames.

The new Echo Frames are available to pre-order in the U.S. for $249.99 now, and will begin shipping on December 10. While the Echo Loop will cease production and sales, however, users of the Echo Loop will continue to receive updates and support.

The upgraded Echo Frames are priced at $249.99 (roughly Rs. 18, 500) and are up for sale in the U.S., although their global availability is not clear as of now.

The three color options for Echo Frames are black, black with a blue lower half, or black with a so-called tortoise pattern, as used by designed glasses. Apart from offering hands-free access to Alexa, the Echo Frames will also continue to work as the native voice assistant on both iOS and Android smartphones.

The Echo Frames promise richer, fuller sound through an improved open-ear technology, as per the listing and the volume can now be set up to automatically adjust at the beginning of the playback based on your listening profile and environmental noise levels.
